Health experts offer advice to drug users on World AIDS Day

Beijing police invited doctors and experts specializing in HIV/AIDS prevention work to the city's drug rehabilitation center to raise awareness among those taking drugs, on World AIDS Day on Friday.
The doctors and medical staff delivered speeches, telling people who are trying to stop using drugs in the center how people become infected and how it relates to drug taking, according to a statement provided by the Beijing Public Security Bureau.
"We let drug users know how to protect themselves and how important it is to stay away from drugs," the authority said.
At the same time, the bureau, doctors, experts and drug users' families held a group birthday party for more than 20 people whose birthdays fell in November, "to offer them support and to encourage them to stop taking drugs and return home", it added.
