Introduction to vice-chairpersons, secretary-general of 13th NPC Standing Committee

BEIJING -- A total of 14 people were elected vice-chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), the top legislature, on Saturday.

Yang Zhenwu was elected secretary-general of the 13th NPC Standing Committee.

The following is a brief introduction to them:

Wang Chen, born in December 1950, is a member of the Political Bureau of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee. He was a vice chairman and secretary-general of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC. He was a member of the 16th, 17th and 18th CPC Central Committees.

Cao Jianming, born in September 1955, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He has served as the procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate from 2008 to 2018. He was an alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 17th and 18th CPC Central Committees.

Zhang Chunxian, born in May 1953, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was also a member of the 16th, 17th and 18th CPC Central Committees and a member of the Political Bureau of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

Shen Yueyue, female, born in January 1957, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee and president of the All-China Women's Federation. She was an alternate member of the 15th and 16th CPC Central Committees and a member of the 17th and 18th CPC Central Committees. She was a vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC.

Ji Bingxuan, born in November 1951, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was an alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 17th and 18th CPC Central Committees. He was a vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC.

Arken Imirbaki, born in September 1953 of Uygur ethnicity, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He was a vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC.

Wan Exiang, born in May 1956, is chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. He was a vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC.

Chen Zhu, born in August 1953, is chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, president of the Red Cross Society of China and president of the Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas-educated Scholars Association of China). He was a vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC.

Wang Dongming, born in July 1956, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He is secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress. He was a member of the 17th and 18th CPC central committees.

Padma Choling, born in October 1951 of Tibetan ethnicity, was a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC and a vice chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the NPC.

Ding Zhongli, born in January 1957, is chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League. He was a member of the Standing Committees of the 11th and 12th NPC.

Hao Mingjin, born in December 1956, is chairman of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association.

Cai Dafeng, born in June 1960, is chairman of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy.

Wu Weihua, born in September 1956, is chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society.

Yang Zhenwu, born in May 1955, is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee and president of People's Daily.
