Lancang-Mekong tourist cities forum to be held in Sanya


SANYA -- A tourism cooperation forum featuring tourist cities in countries along the Lancang-Mekong River will be held in Sanya, South China's Hainan province, local authorities announced on Saturday.
Delegations from 26 tourist cities in China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam will participate in the forum, scheduled for Nov. 22-25, according to the city's government.
Li Wujun, vice secretary-general of the Sanya city government, said the forum will promote cooperation on investment, trade, finance and education, and improve the capabilities of high-end tourism services among these cities.
The forum will also focus on discussing the opening of new air routes, cruise routes and creating more tourism products, said Ye Kaizhong, deputy head of the city commission of tourism development.
