NHC Update: New Confirmed Cases Outside Hubei Drop for Eighth Consecutive Day

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 11 February, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 2,015 confirmed cases (including 1,638 in Hubei Province);
b) 871 severe cases (897 in Hubei, see note);
c) 97 fatal cases (including 94 in Hubei, and 1 in Henan Province, Hunan Province and Chongqing Municipality respectively);
d) 3,342 suspected cases (including 1,685 in Hubei);
e) 744 cured and discharged cases (including 417 in Hubei); and
f) 30,068 close contacts released from medical observation.
2. As of 24:00, 11 February, the following were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 38,800 confirmed cases (including 8,204 severe cases) still under treatment;
b) 4,740 cured and discharged cases;
c) 1,113 fatal cases;
d) 44,653 confirmed cases;
e) 16,067 suspected cases pending test results; and
f) 451,462 close contacts traced (including 185,037 still under medical observation).
3. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan have altogether reported 77 confirmed cases:
a) 49 (including 1 fatal case) in the Hong Kong SAR;
b) 10 (including 1 cured and discharged case) in the Macao SAR; and
c) 18 (including 1 cured and discharged case) in the Taiwan region.
Note: The number of newly reported severe cases equals the number of existing severe cases of the day minus that of the previous day. Some severe cases may turn into mild cases or fatal cases. On 11 February, the number of severe cases decreased by 44 in 12 provinces, while the number increased by 915 in eight other provinces including Hubei.
According to the Weibo account of People's Daily, NHC statistics show that between 00:00 and 24:00, 11 February, the number of new confirmed cases outside Hubei dropped to 377, declining for the eighth consecutive day. The numbers of new confirmed cases in the past eight days were 890 (3 Feb.), 731 (4 Feb.), 707 (5 Feb.), 696 (6 Feb.), 558 (7 Feb.), 509 (8 Feb.), 444 (9 Feb.) and 381 (10 Feb.) respectively.
