"New Taihu Village provides residents with a variety of career choices and more ways to earn income," Zou Wenping, Party secretary of Shuiyuan township, said.

Local government in Xunwu county has always made efforts to offer assistance on financial and policy levels to its people.

It has invested a total of 1.513 billion yuan ($221 million) into the construction of three industrial parks, namely, a comprehensive logistics park, an e-commerce industrial park and a general equipment manufacturing park near New Taihu Village, which is expected to provide 14,100 jobs.

Practical skills training courses, including e-commerce sales, general equipment manufacturing and garment making, have been organized to expand villagers' vocational skills and open their eyes to new job opportunities.

"Whether they want to continue to work in the farming industry, or get a job in the county town, or start their own businesses, we will try to offer as much help as we can," Zou said.

At present, more than 370 people in New Taihu Village have managed to secure jobs in the county, and over 520 individuals have established their own businesses.
