I wanted to become a member of the Party because I have been impressed by the heroic deeds of Party members around me. When I was a soldier in the People's Liberation Army, I saw my squad leader, who was a young communist, always take the lead in the fight against floods despite often getting injured. Last year, when I transported epidemic control materials to Wuhan during the worst time in the city's struggle with COVID-19, I saw Party members in all walks of life spare no pains for the shared goal of defeating the virus. After I came back from Wuhan, I submitted my application for Party membership and I realized this dream earlier this month.
