At the end of the meeting, over ten households in Yaodian Village volunteered for green planting pilot in more than 50mu of their fields, 5 times of originally planned area.
Besides the pilot field, Zhang Weimin also engaged in the comprehensive utilization and breeding project of earthworms, breeding earthworms in his yard. Earthworms mainly feed on cattle feces and straw to produce Vermicompost which is used as a high-quality organic fertilizer for green planting. It can effectively improve field quality and reduce pollution. Fast-reproduced earthworms can also be used to feed chicks and ducks. Ducks helping with pest and weed control in paddy fields can reduce labor costs. In this way, it has established the multi-dimensional utilization model which is fundamental in the green development model.
