BRI an 'opportunity for all', says FM

Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed China's pledge to make the Belt and Road Initiative "a lasting opportunity shared by all" on Thursday, saying that the nation will continue to promote physical, institutional and people-to-people connectivity.
Speaking at a news conference on the sidelines of the annual legislative session, Wang said China will work with all parties to uphold the Silk Road spirit, deliver on the outcomes of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and usher in a second golden decade of Belt and Road cooperation.
He stressed that the type of modernization China pursues "is not one that benefits China alone".
"We hope that high-quality Belt and Road cooperation will serve as an engine for the common development of all countries and an accelerator for the modernization of the whole world," he said.
