Zhang Ping, a former senior official of the anti-corruption authorities in Guizhou province, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office over serious violations of the Party disciplines and national laws.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, China's top anti-graft watchdogs, said in a statement on Monday.

In April, Zhang, former deputy secretary of the Guizhou provincial commission for discipline inspection and deputy head of the provincial commission of supervision, was placed under investigation for suspected severe violations of the disciplines and laws.

After the investigation, the country's top anti-corruption commissions found that Zhang was disloyal to the Party and dishonest, and he resisted the investigation conducted by the Party organizations and accepted banquet invitations that might affect administrative affairs.

Zhang failed to provide truthful explanations during the investigators' inquiries and accepted money after helping others seek profits in job promotion, the statement said.

Zhang, as a former disciplinary and supervisory official, was also discovered to have interfered in the discipline and law enforcement, and taken the power as a tool to seek personal gains by keeping deep ties with private business owners for a long time, it said.

In addition, it added that he made use of his work positions to seek profits for others in various matters such as business operation, project development and job promotion, and then accepted huge amounts of money in return.

"Zhang's behaviours have seriously violated the Party disciplines and his work rules, so we decided to expel him from the Party and removed him from public office," it said.

His qualification of being a deputy to the 13th Guizhou provincial congress of the CPC has also been terminated, it said.

Furthermore, his illicit gains have been confiscated, and the clues of alleged violations of the national laws have also been transferred to prosecutors for further investigation, it added.
