A preparatory meeting for the 21st China International Cartoon and Animation Festival (CICAF) was held in Hangzhou on May 14. The five-day event is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 2, pending final approval.
Co-hosted by national and provincial authorities, this year's festival will continue its run as "a grand event for animation, a festival for the people", with expanded cultural elements and goals of global reach, industry-wide integration, and all-age engagement.
In addition to the main venue, the event will feature 12 sub-venues and 60 interactive events. Preparations are in full swing, with top domestic and international animation companies and IPs having already confirmed their participation.
