Shandong strengthens cooperation with Hong Kong, Macao

Print PrintThe 2025 Hong Kong-Macao-Shandong Week begins today and will run until May 23, aiming to further deepen the cooperation between Shandong and the two regions.
Shandong has attached great importance to trade cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao and has forged stronger trade ties through strategies like offering exchange platforms for enterprises from the three regions. From January to April this year, Shandong's trade with Hong Kong and Macao reached 28.53 billion yuan ($3.95 billion), up 2.2 percent year on year.
In recent years, Shandong has been committed to building a first-class business environment, attracting a large number of Hong Kong and Macao enterprises. In 2024, Shandong established 739 new Hong Kong-invested enterprises, with actual use of Hong Kong capital reaching $8.59 billion, accounting for 72.7 percent of the province's total foreign investment.
In the first three months of 2025, there were 117 new Hong Kong-invested enterprises in the city, with actual use of Hong Kong capital sitting at $2.62 billion, accounting for 74.1 percent of the province's total foreign investment.
During 2025 Hong Kong-Macao-Shandong Week, a series of activities are being held, including the opening ceremony and high-quality development promotion meeting of Shandong-Hong Kong cooperation, along with a variety of promotion and docking activities.
In addition, Shandong will release 100 key projects for external promotion, covering high-end equipment, new materials, new-generation information technology, modern marine industry, modern agriculture, medical and cultural tourism, high-end chemical industry, infrastructure and modern logistics, and green and low-carbon fields, to promote deeper and more practical cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao.
