The State Council Information Office organized a media tour in Zhejiang from June 11 to 13, bringing over 40 journalists — including representatives from the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkiye, South Korea, Japan, and Brazil — to report on the province's progress in green development.

During a press briefing held in Hangzhou, Xu Wenguang, executive vice-governor of Zhejiang, shared how the province is advancing the "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" philosophy — coined 20 years ago — into tangible economic and ecological results.

Zhejiang has transformed itself into a "great garden", driving coordinated urban-rural development through initiatives like the award-winning "Thousand Villages Demonstration, Ten Thousand Villages Renovation" project. Efforts to replace outdated industries with innovation-led and green technologies have spurred both environmental improvement and high-quality growth.

The province has also pioneered "eco+" models that integrate ecology with agriculture, tourism, and culture, further converting ecological advantages into economic benefits. For over a decade, Zhejiang has ranked among China's top provinces in per capita urban and rural income, while public satisfaction with its environment has risen for 13 consecutive years.

The media delegation visited industrial parks, eco-friendly enterprises, and rural communities in Hangzhou and Huzhou, witnessing firsthand Zhejiang's achievements in green manufacturing, circular economy, and sustainable living.

The press event also underscored Zhejiang's national leadership in ecological awareness, having hosted major campaigns such as World Environment Day 2020 and China's first National Ecology Day in 2023.
