The 2025 World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup Super Final kicked off on June 13 at Xi'an Olympic Sports Center. Over 100 swimmers from 16 countries will perform feats of "water ballet" in the three-day competition.
This high-level event, hosted by World Aquatics, has three sub-events and one super final this year, and marks the first time that Xi'an has hosted a world-class artistic swimming event.
Volunteers have started working intensively in various functional areas of the competition, which will be broadcast live by CCTV. A service guarantee personnel said, "We have conducted multiple training exercises to ensure the event goes smoothly."
The Chinese national artistic swimming team has achieved outstanding results in international competition in recent years, winning all the team and synchronized event gold medals at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games. Feng Yu, the team's captain, said, "My first competition in this venue was the 14th National Games in 2021. I felt that the facilities were comprehensive, and it was comfortable to compete here."
Feng also said that the team has a group program with the theme of the Terracotta Warriors: "The Terracotta Warriors should be brought to a larger stage, so that more people can know about them."
The Xi'an super final is the first time that the team has made an appearance with all its regulars after the Paris Olympic Games. Through the competition, it will lay the foundations for this year's World Championships.
