Jin Lei, director of the China Education Association for International Exchange, said at the event's opening ceremony, "It is such a delight to have friends coming from afar. Music is a global language that does not require translation. We hope that high school students from both countries sow the seeds of friendship between China and the US."
Mr Tanner, leader of the US children choir One Voice, said he hopes the children can gain a better understanding of China through the event and create a better future together.
