China's leading automaker Geely unveiled a new plug-in hybrid on Friday in Guiyang of Guizhou, highlighting rapid growth in the province's new energy vehicle manufacturing sector.
"In one year, we have produced and launched two models in Guiyang. The model introduced here last year has entered 29 overseas markets and is the top-selling pure electric model in markets such as Australia," Gan Jiayue, CEO of Geely Auto Group, said at the launch.
The economy-oriented family sedan A7, released this year, is built at Geely's Guiyang plant, which hosts more than 40 auto-parts suppliers. The plant's localization rate for supporting parts has reached 48 percent.
