Male, born in June 1943, of Han nationality, native of Zhengyang, Henan Province.

1962-1967 Student at the geography department of the Beijing Normal University (BNU)

1967-1968 Waiting for job assignment at the BNU

1968-1970 Working on the farm affiliated to No. 8402 unit of the People's Liberation Army (PLA)

1970-1979 Teacher at the school affiliated to the northwest power grid construction bureau

1979-1981 Graduate student of economic geography at the BNU

1981-1997 Deputy dean, dean of the geography department, director of the scientific research department, director of the administrative office, vice president and president of the Northwest University

1997 Chairman of the Shaanxi Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) and vice-mayor of Xi'an

1997-1998 Vice chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, chairman of the CPWDP Shaanxi Committee and vice-mayor of Xi'an
