DPRK to abandon nuke plans with conditions

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) would give up all its nuclear programs once the United States abandoned its hostile policies toward the DPRK, said Kim Kye-gwan, DPRK deputy foreign minister and head of the DPRK delegation, at the opening ceremony of the third round of six-party talks Wednesday afternoon in Beijing.

ROK: determined to solve nuke issue
 
 
Lee Soo-Hyuck, head of the Republic of Korea delegation for the third round of the six-party talks, said here Wednesday at the opening ceremony of the talks that the ROK side was in a determined mind to fulfill the task of solving the Korean nuclear issue, calling for the concerned parties to eliminate distrust and narrow the difference and make progress in building a nuclear-weapon-free Korean peninsula.

Russia: Nuke-weapon-free process must proceed within intl law framework

The nuclear-weapon-free process must proceed within the international law framework, Alexander Alexeyev, Russian delegation head said here Wednesday.

China: 2 topics to be discussed in talks 
 
Chinese delegation head to the six-party talks and Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in Beijing Wednesday that two major topics, how to realize a nuclear weapon-free KoreanPeninsula and how to make the first step toward the nuclear weapon-free goal, will be discussed in the third round of six-party talks.

Wang made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the new round of talks started Wednesday afternoon in Beijing.
