China's auto production will reach 5.6 million this year.

An official with China Association of Automobile Manufacturers says China's auto production will reach 5.6 million this year, a 12 percent increase over last year.

Jiang Lei told reporters Monday in Beijing that China's auto production is expected to continue to increase until the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

China's auto production last year was 5.07 million.
