Meanwhile Hartson, despite admitting that not everyone at Celtic Park was
aware of the 27-year-old’s prodigious talents, is convinced the 1967 European
Cup winners have staged a major coup by securing the services of the former
Reggina playmaker.
“He’s a top class player and the more like him we can bring in to this club,
the better,” explained the feisty Welshman.
“I know Shunsuke is a big name back in Japan, but I don’t know how many of
the lads had heard of him at first.
“You can see though that he has incredible vision and touch and the fact that
he’s done the business in Serie A – which is one of the toughest leagues for
players of that type – shows he can cut it at the very highest level.”
