Late Adriano goal gives Inter 3-2 win over Milan

"Juventus deserve to be where they are but the season still has a long way to
go and we can still make up ground on them," Mancini told Italy's SKY
television.
"When I was a player I won championships by making up nine points on Juventus
and I lost others when I had a seven-point advantage.
"Everything depends on whether we manage to make up some ground before the
halfway point of the season (on January 15)."
Inter's players, having consolidated their team's position as one of
Juventus's main challengers, will hope the win signals the start of a shift in
the balance of power in Italy.
They last beat Milan in Serie A in March 2002.
Whatever the outcome of the title race, Adriano's early-season goal drought
has certainly ended.
The Brazil striker, who also scored Inter's opening goal from the penalty
spot against Milan, has now got four goals in three matches following strikes
against Ascoli in Serie A and Rangers in the Champions League in midweek.
Juve beat Cagliari 4-0 to move 10 points clear
ROME, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Champions Juventus moved 10 points clear at the top
of Serie A after David Trezeguet struck twice in a 4-0 victory over Cagliari on
Sunday.
Juve have 42 points from 15 matches ahead of Fiorentina, who beat Treviso 1-0
on Saturday.
AC Milan are a further point adrift in third but can reduce Juve's lead by
beating fourth-placed city rivals Inter Milan (29 points) in Sunday's late match
(kickoff 1930 GMT).
Having earned just one point from seven away matches this season, Cagliari
were expected to offer only token resistance at Turin's Stadio delle Alpi.
So it proved, with Pavel Nedved putting the home side ahead after just 10
minutes.
Midfielder Patrick Vieira conjured up a lovely chip over the defence to
Trezeguet and although Cagliari goalkeeper Andrea Campagnolo blocked the French
striker's lob he could not prevent Nedved tucking away the loose ball.
