Most animals never see their parents! Some insects, fish,amphibiansand reptiles hatch from fertilized eggs and face life completely alone. But we found some unusual animal dads.
 Penguin（皇企鵝）:A fatherEmperor penguinwithstands the Antarctic cold for 60 days or more to protect his eggs, which he keeps on his feet, covered with a feathered flap. During this entire time he doesn't eat a thing. Most father penguins lose about 25 pounds while they wait for their babies to hatch. Afterward, they feed thechicksa special liquid from their throats. When the mother penguins return to care for the young, the fathers go to sea to eat and rest.
皇企鵝是唯一在南極大陸沿岸過冬的鳥類，并在冬季繁殖。雄性皇企鵝為了呵護(hù)雌企鵝產(chǎn)下的卵，會(huì)在隨后的兩個(gè)月或更長時(shí)間內(nèi)不吃不喝，全心盡力用自己的身體給后代取暖。孵卵時(shí)，雄企鵝將卵放在兩腳的蹼上并用肚皮蓋住，在這其間，雄企鵝的體重將減輕11公斤。
Monkey（絨猴）:Marmosetsare tiny South American monkeys. The fathers take care of their babies from birth. When the marmoset is born, the father cleans it, then carries it to the mother only when it needs to be nursed. When the baby can eat solid food, the father will feed it.
在“絨猴”家族里，雄絨猴充當(dāng)著“賢夫良父”的角色。雌絨猴生下子女后，只在喂奶時(shí)抱上它們一小會(huì)兒，照料孩子的工作全落在雄絨猴身上。雄絨猴會(huì)為小絨猴清洗身體，等到小絨猴不再吃奶時(shí)，它還會(huì)親自喂小家伙們進(jìn)食。
Sandgrouse（沙雞）:A father Namaqua sand grouse of Africa's Kalahari Desert flies as far as 50 miles a day in order to soak himself in water and return to his nest, where his chicks can drink from his feathers!
在非洲卡拉哈里沙漠，由于雨量稀少，所有的動(dòng)物自出生就要面臨干燥的無情考驗(yàn)。由于納馬夸公沙雞胸部的羽毛吸水性非常強(qiáng)，為孩子尋水的責(zé)任就自然而然落到了它們“胸”上——公沙雞每天都會(huì)到湖邊把羽毛在水里浸濕后再飛回家，以此滿足小沙雞對(duì)水的渴求。
Frog（達(dá)爾文蛙）:The male Darwin frog hatches his eggs in apouchin his mouth. He can eat and continue about his business until histadpoleslose their tails, become tiny frogs, and jump out of his mouth!
達(dá)爾文蛙見于南美洲大部分地區(qū)，它們撫育幼蛙的方式與眾不同。達(dá)爾文雌蛙產(chǎn)下卵后，雄蛙用舌頭把卵卷起咽到聲囊里，之后雄性達(dá)爾文蛙則繼續(xù)進(jìn)食。當(dāng)蝌蚪長到?jīng)]有尾巴時(shí)，雄蛙便張開嘴，讓蝌蚪們跳出去。
Sea horse（海馬）:The male sea horse has a pouch in which the mother lays her eggs. The father then looks after the eggs for about two months, until they hatch and leave the pouch. He continues to protect the young until they are able to live on their own.
相信嗎？雄海馬可是有孕育子女的能力哦！雄海馬腹部有一個(gè)小袋，據(jù)說可用來裝小海馬2000只。當(dāng)雄海馬和雌海馬交配的時(shí)候，雌海馬的卵子會(huì)巧妙地掉到雄海馬的育兒袋里，這些卵子在海馬爸爸的腹袋里經(jīng)過數(shù)周后，便會(huì)孵化成小海馬。
Rhea（美洲鴕）：Rheasare large South American birds similar toostriches. Father rhea takes sole care of his young. From eggs to chicks, he feeds, defends, and protects them until they are old enough to survive on their own.
要論忠誠，美洲鴕肯定不是，因?yàn)樗鼈儧]有固定的配偶。正因如此，雄鳥要獨(dú)自承擔(dān)起孵卵、喂食、照顧和保護(hù)后代的責(zé)任。
Catfish（鯰魚）：A father sea catfish keeps the eggs of his young in his mouth until they are ready to hatch. He will not eat until his young are born, which may take several weeks.
鯰魚大家都熟悉吧？和達(dá)爾文蛙相似，雄性鯰魚也是把雌鯰魚產(chǎn)的卵含在嘴里，以此孵出小鯰魚。不同的是，雄鯰魚在這段時(shí)期不能進(jìn)食。
Cockroach（蟑螂）： A father cockroach eatsbird droppings（鳥糞） to obtain preciousnitrogen, which he carries back to feed his young.
不知道盡守父職的雄蟑螂，能否給名聲掃地的蟑螂家族掙來一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)聲譽(yù)？雄蟑螂為了哺育嗷嗷待哺的后代，會(huì)吃下鳥糞，僅為了給小蟑螂提取氮這一營養(yǎng)物質(zhì)。
