這是一個固定表達，意思是“何況，更不要說……” 相當于let alone，例如：
1) I didn't even see your
brother, much less speak to him. 我連見都沒見過你弟弟，更別說跟他說話了。
2) I dare not speak to
him, much less express my feelings to him. 我連話都不敢跟他說，更別說是表達感情了。
4. look beyond the paint
此句的意思是：別拘泥于圖像本身。

Chaim Soutine，
