Govt ministries launch targeted nationwide job hiring campaign

The Ministry of Education and six other departments have jointly launched a nationwide campaign to boost employment for key groups, including recent college graduates.

The sixth National Employment Action will run through August this year, targeting the 2025 class of college graduates, as well as unemployed graduates from the 2023 and 2024 graduating classes.

The campaign includes efforts to identify job opportunities and disseminate employment information. It's important to guide graduates toward practical employment expectations, according to a notice recently released by the education ministry.

The notice calls for building platforms to connect employers with universities through recruitment events and online and offline services. Local governments are encouraged to organize cross-regional recruitment activities with reputable employers and deepen collaboration between universities and local enterprises.

The initiative also supports incorporating youth employment stations, which provide temporary accommodation and career guidance to job seekers relocating for work, into the broader employment promotion efforts.

Employment restrictions due to factors such as graduation school, overseas study experience, full-time and part-time study, or internship duration would not be permitted, the notice said.

Furthermore, graduates are encouraged to seek opportunities in western regions like the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and the Xizang autonomous region, and consider careers in key industries, rural areas, and small and medium-sized enterprises, it added.

Since the initiative first launched in March 2020, over 100,000 enterprises have participated, offering more than 8 million job opportunities and receiving over 55 million resumes, according to the departments.
