Over 6,000 medical experts to attend oncology congress in Kunming

The 2025 Chinese Congress on Holistic Integrative Oncology will be held from Nov 6 to 9 in Kunming, Yunnan province, in Southwest China, the organizing committee said during a news conference on Sunday.
The event, also known as CCHIO, will gather more than 6,000 medical professionals and present latest developments covering the prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of cancer.
Over 300 major research findings and more than 1,000 public awareness events will also be held around the event.
Fan Daiming, chairman of the conference and president of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, said that China accounts for one-fourth of global cancer cases, but the nation's treatment capability need improvements.
The 2025 CCHIO marks the 17th edition of the conference, with one of its core goals being promoting the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Guidelines for Holistic Integrative Management of Cancer.
The series, aiming at providing standardized recommendations for managing cancer, now comprise 113 guidelines covering 53 common types of cancer and 60 types of diagnosis and treatment technologies.
On the same day, the organizing committee also released the official emblem and mascot for the event — both adopting cultural elements unique to the Yunnan province.
The emblem incorporates the shape of a peacock and the mascot takes the form of an Asian elephant in the province.
