Connecting the world through theater - Exclusive interview with director Lai Shengchuan

For theater director Lai Shengchuan, bringing the world's best shows to his ancestral home Huichang, a small county in Jiangxi province, is the best way to express his connection and love to the place. As the initiator of Huichang Theatre Village, Lai told China Daily online show Spotlight that the charm of theater could bridge his home to the world. As the latest testimony, Lai staged his new show right inside the Lai's family mansion in Huichang during the Huichang Theatre Season 003 earlier this month, which attracted 15 theater groups from five countries to stage over 370 performances.
