China to deepen cooperation in law and judicial administration with Vietnam

China will deepen cooperation in the fields of law and judicial administration with Vietnam and establish diversified mechanisms for resolving civil and commercial disputes involving residents living in the border area of the two countries, the Chinese Minister of Justice said on Saturday.

The minister, He Rong, made the remarks at the first border meeting between the judicial administration authorities of China and Vietnam held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Saturday and Sunday.

She said the meeting is a specific practice in the field of rule of law to build the China-Vietnam community with a shared future. And the ministry is willing to work together with the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam to continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of cooperation in the fields of law and judicial administration.

Efforts will be made to strengthen exchanges, mutual learning, and practical cooperation in government legislation, legal services, judicial assistance, talent development, and digital technology application. Also, it's necessary to establish diversified mechanisms for resolving civil and commercial disputes involving border residents. And those efforts will help to promote economic, trade, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges between China and Vietnam as well as boost regional security and stability, He said.

Vietnam's Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh said on Saturday that over the past 75 years, the cooperative relationship between the two countries has deepened and become more pragmatic and comprehensive. Furthermore, positive results have been achieved in cooperation in the field of rule of law.

He added that the meeting holds significant importance for the legal and judicial sectors of both countries, as it's an important step in promoting legal cooperation between Vietnam and China, especially in boosting ties between the two ministries of justice. Also, it can also help to promote peace and friendship in the border areas.

During the meeting, the Chinese Ministry of Justice and the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice reached broad consensus on establishing a diversified mechanism for resolving civil and commercial disputes involving border residents, expanding and deepening cooperation in legal services and jointly cultivating high-quality legal talents. And legal officials and experts also engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as the work of lawyers, mediation, international cooperation, civil and commercial judicial assistance, and the cultivation of legal talents.
